This was a good story but I didn't have that pull like I did with Fable and Drew.
This is Jen and Colin's story.
Jen has never had the easy way of life. After her brother died serving in the war her family was never the same. So Jen ventured out and struggled to make it on her own. She does things she never thought she'd have to but sometimes you do what you need to in order to survive.
Colin rescues Jen and gives her a job as a waitress at his new restaurant and a place to live. Colin the best friend of Jen's deceased brother vowed he would watch and take care of Jen. Unfortunately he feels like he's always letting people down. Yes, he rescued her and gave her a job and a place to live but it still doesn't feel like enough.
Over time the feeling's they share for each other are bursting at the seams but neither does anything to act on them. Jen has always had a crush on Colin but doesn't do anything because she knows they aren't reciprocated.
Jen and Colin both have secrets that haunt them. Colin's tend to find him at night in nightmares, where Jen slips over to try to comfort him over and over again. Colin knows he needs to tell Jen how he feels about her but can't seem to find the words.
When Jen decides she needs to move out and find her freedom to make it on her own, she knows how hard it can be and knows she will never go back to how things were for her before. Unfortunately, Colin doesn't know how bad it got for
her before he rescued her.
Once secrets come out will Colin and Jen be able to over look the past to have a future together or will the secrets drive them further apart?
Will Colin be able to man up and tell Jen how he truly feels about her or will she leave before he gets the chance?
This was a cute story. I feel like it did drag out in parts but it was still good.
