I wish I could give this book more stars because I love Cassie Mae's books, but this one just didn't do much for me. :(
This is the story of Eric and Em (Mia).
Em is going to Florida to spend the summer living with her best friend, Eric. She's had a huge crush on him since high school, but never told him because he was in a relationship with Ali. Though the two talk constantly through the internet, when she seems him face to face in Florida she cannot believe how much he's changed. Her pudgy best friend is now lean and even sexier than she ever imagined.
Eric has had the biggest crush on Em since forever ago, but never told her because she's beautiful and well he's not. (or so he thinks) Living together seems to stir so many emotions up for him. He loves being around his best friend and would love nothing more than to claim her and make her his, but that comes at a price and one Eric is not sure he can handle.
When the two finally decide to try out a relationship, things are great, except for the fact that Em is constantly on either her phone, computer, or kindle. She has to constantly check out her Twitter feed, Facebook, Instagram, you name it, she's on it, which only frustrates Eric.
But Em meets someone online and tries to help him out. She knows she should tell Eric it's harmless because this guy is looking for a different girl, but she doesn't know how to tell him. Yet she doesn't discontinue the conversation with the new found friend. She feels guilty, and I'm sorry but if you feel guilty then there's a reason for it, so you should probably stop.
I think what frustrated me during this book was that Em knew and felt bad but couldn't stop messaging Scott. She didn't know how to be a person in a live conversation, but to live in the world of the internet.
When Eric finally gets to his breaking point, (which he's already conquering so many fears of his own, he leaves Em. I don't blame him one bit, the guy has been through so much and to be face to face with someone to watch them constantly live in a fantasy world (hence...the internet) he deserves better.
Em realizes what she did and tries to do whatever she can to get her best friend, the love of her life back, but will Eric take her back?
This was a cute read, Em just got on my nerves more than I cared for. But I absolutely loved Eric!!! :)
