I give this book 4 stars!
This is the story of Henley and Lucas.
Henley the quiet, student who has more on her plate than a normal college kid should. Her home life is a little crazy so she ends up going to Shame U because it's only an hour away from her mom. Her best friend GiGi tends to pull Henley out of her shell and out of her dorm to head to some college parties.
Lucas, the tattooed bad boy, has a reputation, and not a very good one. He can have whatever girl he wants, whenever he wants. By chance, Lucas has set his eyes on Henley.
Henley isn't Lucas's typical girl, she's different and in a very good way. She reminds him of his sister and the more she calls him out on his crap, the more intrigued he is by her. Henley was warned to stay away from Lucas, because he is no good for her, but she can't seem to stop thinking about him, and running into him. So she decides to be friends with him.
The more they hang out, the closer they become, having stolen kisses here and there, but Lucas never pushes for more and Henley isn't too sure how to feel about that. The rejection sometimes stings.
What irritated me by this book is that Henley is always running away, never asking questions, she just thinks she's not good enough and I found myself frustrated with her at times. It happened so often that I found her annoying here and there.
When secrets come out, and games are out in the open, can Lucas and Henley actually have a shot to make something work? Or are they better off as friends?
Everyone has a secret, but when do you trust someone enough to tell them all of yours? Can you have a relationship if its based on a game or a lie? Find out in Shameless!
You won't be disappointed.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.
