This is Maddox's story!
Maddox has felt nothing but guilt over his family's destruction. His dad's in prison, his mom has tried to commit suicide multiple times, and his sister, Laney, he feels he always lets down. He's not taking care of her the way he wants or wishes he could. His life changed that fateful day his dad destroyed their family and Maddox has shut down for anything meaningful.
He works a security job at a club and wants to get into tattooing. Unfortunately, no one will give him a chance.
Bee is a strong, independent girl who is who she is, and she doesn't make excuses for it. She takes what she wants and speaks her mind.
One night out, has her and Maddox in a hot and passionate encounter. Bee just opened her own tattoo parlor and loves what she does.
She has her own share of things that haunt her and like Maddox, she has shut down, not allowing people in.
When Maddox decides to apprentice at the last tattoo parlor around, he is shocked to find the blonde beauty he had a one night stand with, owns it.
Working with Bee day in and day out, Maddox and Bee realize they have quite a few things in common. They just get each other. They don't push for information and accept each other for who they are.
Their one night stand turns into a few more hot and steamy nights and when tragedy strikes, the two want to help each other.
Can Bee learn to be open and see what love truly is or will she continue to hold back and run? Can Maddox come out of his darkness and see their is light at the end of the tunnel?
This is a great story of how two people who have haunted pasts can work together and be stronger as one than as two.
