This book was a touching story! It shows how not everything is as it seems and that people aren't always what they seem.
This is the story of Cole and Aimee.
Cole has learned to never give his heart away because all that comes from that is pain. He learned that from his mother. So instead he uses girls night after night getting what he wants. He doesn't promise them anything because really what is there to promise, he is already getting what he wants.
Then comes Aimee, a girl who is trying to move forward with her life but instead is just going through the day-to-day motions. In a step trying to move forward
she enters college, the same one her sister attends. Aimee knows pain and she knows guilt and has been living with it for over a year now. When she starts to see familiar faces on campus she starts to panic and ends up tripping over her own two feet and landing in none other than's Cole's lap. A flustered, pink
cheeked Aimee cannot believe her eyes...this gorgeous green eyed man is standing her up on her feet and she cannot form words. Instead she bolts out of there and
catches up to her sister.
Cole cannot get the look of Aimee out of his head. He knows she looks lost but wants nothing more than to figure out who she is. At first he thinks it's "the chase" but then he realizes it is something more with this girl. SHe's not trying for his attention but rather the complete opposite and it makes he even more interested.
What starts out as friends getting to know one another slowly starts to change but Cole realizes he cannot push Aimee or she will run and never come back. And as much as Aimee would like for Cole to do something she won't push, she's not ready.
Both of these characters both have pain that they need to face before they can truly be happy. When situations come up they both run and unfortunately it's in
different directions.
Do these two have what it takes to make something work with them or are they both too damaged to try?
This was a great story of how a person can heal with the help and push of another! :)
