Penelope, the auburn beauty who wrote a story that did nothing positive for Ryker or his potential football career. When he keeps showing up where Penelope works and requests to be in her section, she's finding it harder and harder to keep a calm demeanor.
Ryker was part of a bad idea, but it was helping his best friend, so he helped and even though he's out of the running for the Heisman, he will do whatever he needs to, to make his name good again along with winning a championship. He has come too far to give up now.
Yes, Ryker knows that Penelope wrote the article that hurt the team, but that was minor compared to everything else. He and his football buddies are sitting in Penelope's section, when one of the decides to make a bet. One that pushes Ryker until he gives in.
The bets are to be silly little games, until one is taken too far and the one person he never wanted to hurt is in involved. Ryker knows that Penelope is too good for him, but he has this draw to her and he can't explain it. Unfortunately, she seems to not be able to get away from him fast enough. When a bet goes wrong, he decides he needs to make amends and fix things for her. Finding out who her crush is, he sets a plan in action to help her, even though he doesn't understand what she sees in that nerd.
Penelope is hesitant, but befriends Ryker he helps her to get Conner to like her, but the more she is around Ryker, the more feelings start to develop and change for her.
When Penelope is with Connor, it's nothing like it was when she was with Ryker. How can this one man control all her thoughts? Giving in, Penelope and Ryker hang out, and the more they do, the sparks fly, until her world is flipped upside down. Can Ryker fix the mess he's made, or has he ruined everything for Penelope and lose all her trust?
This is a beautiful love story and definitely worth reading!
