I gave this story 4 stars. There's a lot of drama and ups and downs, which keeps you sucked into the novel. 

This is the story of Ava and Connor. Both have been through their share of issues, which when they meet for the first time, Connor is drawn to Ava, but she doesn't necessarily feel the same way. In fact, she doesn't even give him the time of day. Could it be that sometimes you shouldn't judge a person before actually getting to know them?

Connor has his own demons that he's dealing with, and he knows that basketball and making it into the NBA is the end game, but at what cost?

Ava, the girl next door, has been living a life of shadows, just going through the motions of everyday life, instead of actually living. How can one live though when everything that once was is gone and now you have memories and the shell of the person you love most in this world, mom. She hasn't been the same and no matter what Ava does, it doesn't seem to help.

When Connor pushes Ava, there's a spark there that neither or really truly ready for, but they both want to explore. Can these two overcome all the obstacles that stand in their way and have a happily ever after or will everything come crashing down around them?

This is a 2 book series, so for the conclusion you must read book 2.
