This is a great story between Tate and Jared. These two grew up together and were best friends and then something happened when they were 14 years old and Jared wouldn't treat Tate the way he did before. Three years go by where Tate has been treated like
crap by Jared and his best friend Madoc and for three years she has no idea why she lost her best friend but now has this guy that bullies her. Oh and he's her neighbor. Love that!
Tate takes a year away to study abroad during her junior year and tells her best friend K.C. that she will be back for her senior year. One year away from Jared's rudeness. When Tate comes back Jared does not do much to cause problems for her but she doesn't back down no matter what. As things change and the year progresses the one that was bullied slowly becomes the bully. When she realizes what is doing she realizes it's not her. It's one thing to stand up for yourself but it's another to cause hurt because you can.
As times goes on she finds herself more and more attracted to her childhood best friend and though Jared may have similar feelings many things happen that could rip these two further apart. Do they have what it takes to be who they used to be or will they rip each other apart and hurt each other more?
This is a great story of how misunderstandings and other factors can contribute to the wrong outcomes at times.
