4.5 beautiful stars!
This was a great read and at a time I did shed a few tears!
This is the story of redemption and overcoming life's challenges. The story of Aria and Emmett along with the amazing Cassie!
Aria and her mom moved to have a fresh start, a new beginning, to forget the past and move on, though sometimes that's easier said than done.
Moving in with her uncle Merv isn't what Aria planned, but its what her and her mom are doing, and the beginning encounter into the old house lets Aria realize so much has changed in her life. She went from a loving home to her mom and her moving away from everything she's always known, including her friends.
Aria meets her next door neighbor Cassie and while Cassie is super excited and sweet, Aria can tell she's different, finding out the Cassie has autism, she understands a little more now. She befriends the girl and actually grows to love her and be best friends with her. Her only issue is that she's attracted to Cassie's older brother Emmett, who happens to already have a girlfriend, Holly.
Holly is your beautiful, kind, sweet, and charming girl, no doubt her and Emmett are made for one another, yet Aria can't help but feel that no one is that perfect.
To start her first day of school, Emmett drives Aria and Cassie to school, and Cassie introduces Aria to practically everyone. Soon Aria meets another girl, Jen, who is her "buddy" at school, to help her know and find her way around.
When Aria overhears something in the bathroom, she can't help but feel conflicted on what to do. Does she do the right thing and out Holly for who she truly is, or does she keep her mouth shut? After all she is the new girl at school who wants a fresh start.
Unfortunately though, when Aria has had enough, she speaks to Emmett and shows him proof of what his perfect girlfriend is all about, causing a world of chaos to ensue.
The closer Aria gets to Emmett the more she falls for him, but will she be able to come clean about her past in order to actually move on in her future? Can Emmett ever look at her the same way once finding out her truth?
In a world of bullying, cruelness, and darkness, is there light at the end of the tunnel?
This was a beautiful story of overcoming fears and tragedies and moving on with life, with learning to be better and seeing that our actions do have consequences. I do feel like the end was rushed a bit, but all in all it was a great story and one worth reading!
