Wow ….OMG just WOW.
The second part of Emma’s story.
This is a girl who has been put through hell only to not be given a break but to endure more hell. Not sure how that’s even possible but oh yeah it definitely is. After a night of absolute hell for Emma she now lives with her best friend Sara and her parents. Her aunt is serving time for her vicious attacks and hatefulness on Emma. Emma’s uncle has taken the kids and moved out of state. Now things should start to slowly get better for Emma…but nope…here come’s her mother back into the picture.
Emma tries to do the right thing and moves in with her mom so she can get to know her. She knows her mom has struggled and she decides to give her the benefit of the doubt and find out who her mom is. The good things to come…one would imagine. WRONG!
Emma has nightmares every time she closes her eyes and understandable as to why. Her mom isn’t so nice about it when Emma starts screaming in her sleep. Damn Rachel…(that’s Emma’s mom).
Evan and Emma have their small issues one where Emma doesn’t quite understand but doesn’t really dig for more information. Evan….oh bless this man for what he has seen and what he has done. He loves Emma and will do anything and everything for her…if she only knew how far he went to save her. My heart absolutely broke for what Evan saw but fell in love with him all
over again for what he did! <3 Evan!
Now enter Jonathan….Rachel’s new boyfriend. He’s much younger than her…only a few years older than Emma. But he is nice all the same. (I think). Jonathan and Emma connect on levels beyond belief…why? Because they have both been in situations where they have been hated and let down by the people who were to always be there and protect them. Emma and Jonathan talk to each other and lean on each other for support. (Poor Evan). When realization comes to a head….Jonathan is only staying with Rachel to
see and hang out with Emma…this isn’t good!
Things are strained a bit with Emma and Evan and she is slowly pulling away. Evan again doesn’t give up so easily. When things
come to a head with Evan and Jonathan things get out of control and fast. Unfortunately Emma makes a life changing decision and my heart breaks.
Book 3….oh how you cannot come soon enough.
